This guide wouldn’t have been possible if not for the amazing geeks of Binghamton. While crafting it, I started out with a list of 15 things and it quickly expanded to this list of shops, museums, and groups you see before you. I’m sure with everyone’s help it will continue to grow.
Why put this thing together?
Simple, to let people know there’s something for everyone in the Binghamton-area.

Triple Cities Makerspace
You want to learn how to make it? This is the space to do it. Whether you’re craft be sewing, wood-working, 3D printing, or welding, the Makerspace has something for you. Stop in during an open house night on Tuesday after 6:30pm.
Meeting on the first and third Saturday of every month, (barring holiday breaks), this community comes together for dramatic role play with the Minds Eye Theater Werewolf the Apocalypse system, as well as occasional horror games based on HP Lovecraft and Call of Cthulhu.
Binghamton Area Tabletop Society
The sole purpose of BATS is to provide a regular, safe, and public environment for people to play tabletop games together. This group is filled with welcoming individuals with a crazy-amazing knowledge of board games.

The USS Serling is Greater Binghamton’s own chapter of Starfleet.
Carcosa Creations is the husband/wife team of Kevin and Kim Kreiner, who have collectively been running Live Action Role Playing games for over a decade.

Enter the Twilight Zone
Fans of Rod Serling’s work and the Twilight Zone will find several notable spots to visit and pay homage to one of sci-fi’s great storytellers. Devotees will recognize Binghamton’s downtown Boscov’s Department Store and Bus Terminal as inspirations for popular episodes. Plus, check out The Bundy Museum, which is host to a Rod Serling archive.
LUMA Fest (Sep 7 – 9)
Three nights of glorious projections and moving pictures mapped onto the buildings in downtown Binghamton.
Epic Nerd Camp (June 28 – July 2)
This is just too unique I couldn’t leave it out. Get this: relive summer camp as an adult, plus a bunch of nerdy activies (e.g. foam-crafting, swordplay, archery, board games from dawn until ?).
Crown City Con (Sep 22 – 23)
Get your tabletop gaming on! Whether it’s roleplaying, board gaming, war gaming, card gaming, or anything else, Crown City will be serving up a weekend-long slice of gaming goodness!

Roberson Museum and Science Center

Home to a number of dynamic exhibits touching on a range of subjects, including ecology and conservation, fine art, and propaganda. There’s a number of intriguing artifacts and stories to hear behind each exhibit, as well as the museum and mansion.

Step back to the Gilded Age in one of the last of the remaining high houses on “Mansion Row.” Stop in for a guided tour Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday 11am to 5pm.
The Bundy Museum

The Bundy Mansion which sits as the centerpiece of its three-building campus celebrates the self-made man in Binghamton. It’s home to a number of oddities, including a small public radio station and pieces of ‘Twilight Zone’ history.
